Jane Stanfield
Author, Speaker, Coach and Passionate Global Volunteer
Ever wonder what it would be like to...
Bottle feed an infant baboon?
Sing a Lullaby to a Peruvian orphan?
See a grade-school dance performance in another country?
Lift a 3000-year-old pot from carefully excavated dirt?
Up until recently, neither did I. I happened across the concept of international volunteering five years ago and have been passionate about them ever since.
I know what you are experiencing as you begin your search. As your guide and coach, I can help cut down your research time and find a volunteer experience that allows you to not only give to others, but also learn about other cultures and places, but most importantly, perhaps learn something
about yourself.
My keynotes and workshops can be customized for your group and combine information, resources, images and personal stories about what it is like to serve others as a global volunteer.

Keynotes and Workshops
Babies, Baboons and Bones! What do these three words have in common besides beginning with B? They were my three favorite volunteer experiences out of 12 during a yearlong trip around the globe. From working with children in Romania, raising orphan baboons in South Africa, and excavating at a magnificent archaeological site in Thailand, you will see why this kind of service travel can be so addicting. Passports not required to attend. KEYNOTE - 30 minutes WORKSHOP - 60-120 minutes
Mapping Your Volunteer Vacation What exactly is a volunteer vacation? With stories and examples, you will learn about the breadth of opportunities that await you around the world when you go on one of these adventures. Then, using the steps highlighted in the award winning Mapping Your Volunteer Vacation, you too can be organized as you plan and create an amazing volunteer vacation that fits your interest, time, budget, and heart. For the workshop, you will use the workbook to begin planning your first or next volunteer vacation, either for this year or in the future. BOOK SIGNING with Mini Talk - 30-45 minutes
KEYNOTE - 60-90 Minutes WORKSHOPS - 4-6 hours
Touched by Wildlife, or Seven Months Without Makeup. Photographs highlight the eight wildlife species that I was privileged to get up-close-and-personal with around the globe. From the small echidna in Southern Australia to the tall, elegant giraffes in South Africa, I saw a range of uncommon wildlife. Come hear my stories, laugh at the animal antics and see the lessons I learned when they generously shared themselves with an outsider. KEYNOTE - 60 minutes WORKSHOP - 60-120 minutes
Volunteer Vacations – Isn’t It Time to Start Seeing Other People?
People usually have questions when they hear about volunteer vacations: How do I do it? What are they like? Where can I go? Who else will be there? How much will it cost? I don’t have the skills or speak the language. Can I still go? How do I find a project that fits my interest and comfort level? All these questions and more will be answered before the end of the session, because “isn’t it time to start seeing other people?”
KEYNOTE - 60-90 minutes
Alternative Title - Volunteer Vacations - Traveling on Purpose
Your Dream – From What Would if Be Like... to WOW! Have you ever asked yourself, why does consistently creating a goal, business plan or dream remain such a mystery? Why can you do it sometimes and not others? We all have great ideas, big plans and fantastic dreams. What we seem to lack is a compass, the map and perhaps most importantly, the belief that we deserve to achieve our goal. With examples about an international volunteer vacation, and three simple steps, you will learn how to take a goal, any goal whether personal, business, or travel oriented, and get into action. KEYNOTE - 30 minutes WORKSHOP - 60-120 minutes
